Starbucks Project Not Dead ~ Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers Disaster Sequel?

Residents surrounding Raising Cane’s at 1750 W Olive Ave, Burbank, CA 91506 claim that the drive-through ruined the neighborhood with litter, late-night noise, and illegal parking in front of residential driveways…even Tally Rand had to install an expensive fence to prevent people from trespassing on their property while waiting for food orders from Raising Cane’s.

Despite all this, the City is still considering a Starbucks drive-through at 1200 North Hollywood Way, a location that is guaranteed to cause problems of the same ilk as what happened with Raising Cane’s. City workers even set up a dedicated page for the proposed Starbucks.

The proposed Starbucks would clearly block the single lane on Chandler and the layout would have vehicles exiting into the narrow alley where apartment residents typically need to park. No offense meant to Portos, but their busy location generates tremendous litter around the Magnolia Park area, they serve coffee just a block away and that same area has two other busy coffee shops. The location requires a special exception to get a permit for the drive-through since zoning does not give Starbucks an automatic right to build the concept.
